With a chequered history as a private house, an 11 bedroomed children’s home and then as a Surrey County Council Family Support Unit, the building had over the years been adapted to suit its uses. Many of the original features had been removed or covered up whilst in council ownership.
The new owners wanted to restore the original features and to reconfigure and extend the interior space.
Our team completely stripped out the interior back to the shell, removing stud partitions, flooring, suspended ceilings and a commercial kitchen.
The property undertook major structural alterations, with all steelwork being carefully hidden. We also excavated the basement to create space for a gym.
The old conservatory to the front was replaced with a more contemporary building. Another unusually shaped contemporary glazed building was added off the kitchen
