The property, a second floor flat in a Victorian terraced house, was to have a single storey roof extension and reconfiguring of the existing space.
With residential houses on all boundaries, the site at a high level, and with public pedestrian footpath and highway to the front was logistically challenging.
Associated with the new loft room – to be used as an open plan living area – was a roof terrace oriented to the front elevation of the building. The terrace was accessed through a steel framed glazed double door and was timber decked.
The contemporary design featured a bespoke deck barrel roof with standing seam zinc cladding detail.
Light and airy in design, the new loft room had extensive steel-framed glazing to the rear elevation of the building. Our team designed all new services to the extension.
